It is significant in moving vehicles like taxi's to track their passenger location and to report their situation in time of emergencies.

I have no idea why Amateur radio operators chose to draw attention to themselves, regarding this bill.

No one in their right mind would ever think that conventional two way vehicle mounted radios would be included in this ban...it would be impossible.

Of course operation of two way radios of any kind is a distraction while operating a motor vehicle, but it is out of the pubic attention and there are no statistics that show that it is.

The Amateur radio qualifications have no examination for the operation of radio equipment in a motor vehicle, and why any HAM radio operator would think he is more capable of this, than a cab driver, or other two way radio user, that uses his radio hundreds of time a day is beyond me!

Hopefully, the result is not one of "Oh, those ham people are not an essential service, their radios are not used for work, but in the hobby category, like CB..., maybe we should take a closer look at that as well, regarding prohibition"!

Hopefully they ignore us entirely!
