RAC Bulletin 2013-036E – 2013 Annual General Meeting concluded
The Radio Amateurs of Canada held the annual general meeting on October 5th 2013 in Ancaster Ontario.
RAC President Geoffrey Bawden's report is available for perusal through access from our website. A key point of interest from the detailed President's Report is that RAC has returned to financial solvency at the end of the second quarter of 2012 as confirmed by the audit report. Two and a half years of a significant effort and undertaking by numerous people within the organisation's Board, Executive, Administration and Finance Committee has brought upon this very positive outcome. The Report is detailed and provides a very good outline of our continued recent successes, notable capabilities (domestically and internationally) as an organisation armed with a prioritized forward looking vision. RAC has strong endeavours and determination to enhance its visibility, communications and overall effectiveness on numerous fronts as the official representational entity for amateur radio in Canada.
With respect to this AGM, RAC would like to sincerely extend a very strong expression of gratitude to ICOM Canada [www.icomcanada.com] and Radioworld [www.radioworld.com] for generously providing two transceivers (IC-7000 and IC-1D31A) for a draw that was held during the coinciding HARC hamfest. Norm Freidin VE3CZI and George Duffield VE3WKJ were the lucky winners of the draw. We would like to also extend strong thanks that Hamilton Amateur Radio Club and its volounteers.
The 2014 AGM will take place in Vancouver which will coincide with the Pacific Northwest DX Convention July 25-27th which will be hosted by the Orca DX and Contest Club [http://www.orcadxcc.org/clubinfo.htm]
